Three people face drug trafficking charges after OPP seized cocaine, fentanyl and other drugs Monday.

Ontario Provincial Police announced the arrests following a four-week investigation in Northwestern Ontario. Officers seized two kilograms of suspected cocaine, 250 grams of suspected fentanyl, hundreds of hydromorphone tablets, suspected LSD powder, 12 pounds of illicit cannabis, and items associated with drug trafficking.

A 29-year-old Mississauga man is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. He was remanded into custody.

A 40-year-old Thunder Bay woman faces one charge of possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. A 25-year-old Thunder Bay woman is charged with possession of opioids for the purpose of trafficking.

Both local women were released from custody with future court dates.

The OPP did not specify where the drugs were seized or provide additional details about the investigation.

In a separate case, Thunder Bay Police charged a 29-year-old man with drug trafficking July 17 after seizing cocaine and fentanyl from a Lincoln Street residence.
